Analysis of The ballad of patrick pearse

(To the memory of Padraíc MacPíaraís.)
~~
An Irish mother and an English father were ordained
By God to give birth to a person of political renown- a
Patriot of the Irish nation who in nineteen and sixteen
Was executed under the auspices of the British crown.
~
A loving and a heroic person who gave his life for Irish
Freedom as others did before and after his sacrifice by
British guns on the blood stained surface of a City of
Dublin prison known as Kilmainham...
~
A follower of Theobald Wolfe Tone and Robert Emmett
Sharing the courage that they both possessed in order
To ensure our peoples freedom- a patriot before and in
The wake of his courageous but sad departure.
~
And what, Patrick, once proclaimed Britain has refused
For decades to function- denying our country self-
Determination although there are those of a mentality
Who contend that we experience democracy.
~
But those lovers of finance and limited political power
Will In due course be replaced by revolutionaries
Striding firmly in the republican footsteps of Wolfe Tone
And the revolutionary spirit of our hero
