Analysis of Dewi the dragon
DEWI THE DRAGON.
Dewi is a dragon
Born and bred in Wales
Weaned on meals of laverbread
And Felifoel’s best ales.
Most of the foreign dragons
Drink petrol as a rule
But Dewi is such a hot shot
He needs no extra fuel.
His mam lives in Cwmfelinfach
Whilst daddy works in Splott
Underneath the swimming pool
To keep the water hot.
They moved down here from Gogoland
When the family was skint
Grandad lives on Anglesey
Retiring there from Flint.
At the age of eighteen months
Dewi went to school
To learn to curb his fiery breath
He has to play it cool.
Dragons have a scaly coat
They’re not able to perspire
So if they get overheated
They set themselves on fire.
He now supports the rugby team
In old Mynyddbach
And prances round the stadium
When they sing Sospanfach.
Yes, Dewi’s doing well these days
He’s in the public eye
Pictured on our national flag
Our hero’s flying high.
\So if you go to Cardiff
And you see the Union Jack
Wave to Dewi, he’s there too
I’m sure that he’ll wave back.
