Analysis of At the Bar
A couple sitting at the bar
oblivious to one another
Both staring into their
drinks with a blank look
on their faces
She's worried about her
life, " I have to get out
of here. This is a sleazy
place I'm in."
He's wondering about
all the parties and all
the women he doesn't
meet.
The vague music in the
background with the
scent of smoke swirling
to the ceiling, people
looking for pick-ups,
their dim emotions lost
in the grey tones
People fading into the
background while the
bartender takes the
lead, as he runs to
everyone for fill-ups, he
says to himself, "These
dumb people. Look how
they live their lives, can't
handle the stress so they
numb themselves with
alcohol."
The dawn approaches,
people go home and
fall asleep...dreaming
of wholeness in their
lives and finally finding
true love
