Analysis of L'Horloge
Maurice Rollinat 1846 (Châteauroux) – 1903 (Ivry-sur-Seine)
À son tic tac mélancolique,
La fermière écosse des pois.
— La nuit noire comme la poix
S’avance d’un pas diabolique.
Cependant, qu’un chat famélique
Guigne ses deux énormes poids,
À son tic tac mélancolique,
La fermière écosse des pois.
Quand son tintement métallique
Vibre dans sa cage de bois,
Je frissonne un peu, mais je bois
L’extase douce et bucolique
À son tic tac mélancolique.
