Analysis of The Pianist
Tears descend from a leeward sun,
Spilling over polarity’s chaste-less edge,
Into pastures of fallen stars.
Daylight’s golden tendrils,
Caress twilight’s lusterless figure,
Unveiling her shroud of uncertainty,
upon an anvil of ivory.
Rapidly she fades to a flatter sea,
simmering upon the shores of delivery.
As the hills ascend to conceal sun’s scepter,
Sea’s flat descent is reversed by a new chapter,
In the life of a star,
now risen.
once fallen.
Casting a singular glow upon the granular imprint,
Her light transcends celestial impossibility,
Illuminating the shadow bridge of antipathy,
Where gratitude unfolds its radiant tapestry.

About this poem
Wrote this poem in college for a creative writing class- received an F on it. Took me 7 years to find an ending I liked for it. I focused on weaving two separate metaphors together, while using spacing to highlight them.
