Analysis of Dark Soldier

Lindsay Mayeux 1992 (United States of America)

Dark soldier there
Walking
Dim is the light in your eyes
And heavy with burden

Your past is haunted
With years of torment and
Neglect
Did you forget to love yourself?

Your love so deep, but hollowed out,
The void it grows
Did you forget yourself?

Oh afflicted soldier,
You carry more than your cross,
There are things outside of your control,
The weight of the world is not yours to hold,
Did you forget to shed that
Added weight?

Alone in your mind,
You march on,
With heavy strides,
Not realizing you are
Chosen

You are the son or daughter
of the Most High King,
Not just any king,
But that of our Father in heaven.

He waits for you,
Dear child,
To remember-
If only you remembered-
Remember who you are.
