Analysis of Missing You
Lying in my bed. Sheets warm beneath my thighs. Thoughts of yesterday’s gone by.
Unconscious desires pushed to the surface of my mind
As hands reached out to grasp thin air.
Cool wind blowing chilling my body, simmering darkness cascades into my open windows filling the room with memories of you, of me, of us locked in a loving embrace.
Legs twined, lips pressed together, body heated, sweating from our love.
My mind remembers, my body reacts, my noise smells your scent, my legs lift and closes around crumbled sheets, arms wrap around a tear stained pillow, beads of perspiration stain my forehead.... as I am missing you.

About this poem
I wrote this poem a few months after my husband and I agreed to split up for a while. I thought it would be easy to do so but I was not prepared to miss him so much that it hurt to be without him and out of my missing him came the poem.
