Analysis of Crushed Heart

Catrina Fuentes 1981 (United States)

In the hallways of youth, a crush did bloom,
On Freddie, a light in high school's gloom,
Stars on his picture, a silent vow,
Of a love unspoken, a heart somehow.

Twenty years on, a twist of fate,
Freddie walked in, my heart elate,
An interview, an office to share,
My crush returned, caught in a stare.

Mrs. Star, he called me, a name so sweet,
In our daily interactions, a connection complete,
Closer we grew, hearts intertwined,
But a barrier stood, fate unkind.

Married was I, a bond not to break,
Yet love's whispers, harder to shake,
Freddie's presence, a bittersweet joy,
A love forbidden, hearts to employ.

Then came the blow, the news so grim,
Freddie passed, lights dim,
Heartbroken, shattered, I stand alone,
In grief, in love, in a heart's mourn.

Mrs. Star, now in solitude I weep,
In the memories of love, I deeply keep,
Freddie, my crush, my heart's true call,
In the echoes of love, I give my all.
