Analysis of If I Stay Broken

Joann Sanders 1976 (Oklahoma indian resevation)

Would it be a token if I just stayed here?
Sighs of a quiet child full of fear,
All my dreams whispering in my ear,
Silent hopes fading unclear,

If I stay here my voice suppressed
So much left unsaid repressed,
But there's so much to be addressed,
Pain lingers waiting to be undressed,

If I stay here I question my fate,
Is there time to heal or is it too late,
Every dream is the pain I contemplate,
Chances lost leaving me desolate,

Emerging in darkness, this once me,
I came to light can't you see,
The once her was now she,
The broken one just let be.
