Analysis of It doesn't have to be this way.
Amberly Jergovic 2001 (Ontario)
Each evening is another day of bruises and pain,
They ask how or why it happened, she has too much pride to pass on the blame.
Everyday, he hurt her in vain
He continues to play his ruthless game,
One that is untrue to her loyal heart:
it can never stop once it starts.
It doesn't have to be this way.
She doesn't have to suffer another day.
She has the choice to walk away.
Today is the day she has freed herself of her pain.
They will laugh and choose their sides.
The truth is where thy loyalty resides.
Once one falls, the rest fall too.
Hence, Karma is their consequence.
Meet the truth.
It doesn't have to be this way.
Not ever, never again, not tomorrow and certainly not today.
