Analysis of LOVE, 'MADNESS OF THE GODS'

Why do you love her?
Why do you love him?
If reasons you found,
That's probably not love.

Love should not be dependent,
For we grow, we change, we transform,
Reasons may fade away,
Does that mean love also gets to fade away?

Love should mean independence,
Both souls are free to be their particular selves,
Authentic through the twists of life,
Without fear of erosion of love.

Love should mean union,
Souls and hearts in perfect harmony,
Living and feeling together in each one.
Yet free and wild in the safe net.

Love should be a bestowal of value,
Value originates in the lover,
They’re beautiful because you love them,
You don’t love them because they’re beautiful.

There's a reason love is, "The madness of the gods",
You experience a fall that scares your soul and knots your core,
And yet you cannot consciously bring yourself to stop the fall,
Because love is involuntary and constant, you have no power over it.

And as butterflies in your stomach jump through hoops of fire,
And ear-to-ear smiles as you see them through the lenses of love,
You give in to gravity because you cannot stop daydreaming,
And the daydreams are the new home and reality you crave.
