Analysis of Confessions Of The Heart...

Recently my life went thru a drastic change,
I left a wife I'd been with for over 13 years.
Was it hard - well sure - I've cried my river of tears.
I gave it my all and did my best to play my part,
But as the years went by we just simply grew farther apart.
We both made mistakes as we all seem to do,
It's part of being human--we must all know that this is true.
I spend my time getting back to trying to just be me,
It's important to me that that's what people really see.
I spent years being what other people felt that I should,
I didn't see the danger and never thought that I would.
Knowing now that out of myself I've just made a big fool,
I realize today that I forgot a very important rule.
You must always be yourself and be thankful for that,
Be true to yourself because that's where your safety is at.
Never put on an act just to try to impress.
They'll see right thru your act and use you for their friends to impress.
Be yourself no matter what happens to you everyday,
Then maybe people will - or will not - love you for showing your heart that way.
If that's not good enough for them then just simply walk away,
Because chances are you don't need them as friends anyway.
For to God you are always a bright shining star,
and He'll love you for you--being just the way you are.
