Analysis of Change

She is so full of sorrow and pain.
When she looks in the mirror,
All she feels is distain.
For herself and her life.
Wondering to herself,
"Will I ever get this right?"
She ponders upon taking knife
And ending her life.
But she doesn't truly wish to die.
She just wants to understand,
How to act like a human.
She tries, but her strides aren't enough.
How can she change?
This is who she was trained.
She's been this way
Since she was young.
Young and naive
She loved people freely.
She quickly learned
How cruel people were
Took advantage of her kindness.
How could she be so sightless?
She won't show a hurt emotion.
No cause to start a commotion.
Now instead of getting sad,
She in turn just gets mad.
She wants to stop cursin'
To be a better person.
When she's been this way,
It's hard to change.
It's hard to have love for herself.
Spending time trying be someone else.
She says to herself,
"It doesn’t matter how you felt."
"Look around, can't you see?"
"You gotta just be."
"Be the change you wanna see!"
