Analysis of Conversations with Shadows

Michael groover 1969 (Knoxville Tennessee)

The shadow is a reflection of who I am,
It contains the hidden desires and unknown parts that I possess,
Those I hide from the world, hidden behind a facade.

My shadow speaks to me,
A whispering voice from my subconscious,
That I often ignore but nevertheless, it is there.

It guides me to look within,
The courage and strength to face my older demons,
To answer the troubling questions I have.

"Who am I?"
"What do I want?"
"What am I capable of?"

My shadow shows me that I'm more than just my outside,
And that striving for growth is essential,
To becoming the person I really want to be.

And so I embrace my shadow,
The one that speaks my truths,
And allows me to be vulnerable and open,
Without the fear of judgment or exile.

My shadow is a part of me,
It is difficult to ignore,
It has created moments of clarity and insight,
For I am finally allowing myself to think free.

My friend, my foe, my reverie,
My shadow serves porpoises different,
It speaks a language my heart adores,
A language of self-reflection and solace.

So I thank my shadow,
For being my loyal companion,
And pushing me to be the best of me,
Unafraid and ever inquisitive.
