Analysis of In Control
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
You can't break my heart.
Or take away my soul.
As if a clock to make it stop.
To start again to resell it sold.
Too long I have been,
On my own familiar road.
Facing obstacles.
You assumed to believe in your control.
In my control,
Is what I choose to think.
Before I decide,
Which move forward I should take.
And I continue to do so.
Without letting my emotions,
Show to expose to anyone including you...
That I refuse to make excuses,
For whatever it is others may do.
No!
You can't break my heart.
Been there to have done that.
Never again to allow that to happen.
You can't take away my soul.
As if a clock to make my hopes I dream,
Come to a stop. No! I'm not the one.
My faith is too strong to accept that done!
