Analysis of A walk, in soul’s shadow
Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)
A soul hovers
amidst the universal stream
A leaf floats
downstream upon the river
Spinning in lazy circles
as we, drawn into dreams
Of thoughts we've entertained,
yet never quite attained...
Inclined to become caught
In the eddies of life's flow
as shades of gray
Begin climbing our thoughts
a gathering of souls
Overcast skies,
adrift in rainy daydreams
oh, as the sleepy rise
eyes half closed,
get another blanket,
put another log on the fire
Winter's coming fast
