Analysis of A Beautiful Winter
Kayla Johnson 2003 (Jacksonville)
In nature's gentle embrace, I wander free,
Where whispers of fragrant blooms enchant the breeze.
A symphony of colors, from grass to sky,
Untouched, unmarred by human hands' sly.
Majestic mountains, clad in robes of snow,
Kiss the heavens above, their grandeur aglow.
Rivers dance and serenade the stones they caress,
Melodies of eternity, a precious treasure to possess.
The golden sun, with warmth and grace it reigns,
Painting horizons in celestial stains.
Fleeting clouds, like brushstrokes upon the azure,
Unveil secrets of the cosmos, wondrous and pure.
Beneath the moon's radiant, ethereal guise,
Stars illuminate the night with celestial ties.
Diamonds scattered upon a velvet cover,
Whispering tales of distant realms to discover.
And as I stroll amidst the forest's embrace,
I witness life's miracle within every trace.
The rustling leaves, like whispered lullabies,
As birds weave dreams through the boundless skies.
Oh, the fragrance of a rose in bloom,
A melody of scents, stirring hearts to exhume.
Petals unfurl, a tapestry of grace,
A love song to behold, adorning nature's embrace.
Yet, through this symphony, a dire plea seeps,
For we are mere custodians, entrusted to keep,
This masterpiece, where nature's beauty thrives,
Preserve this world with love, as long as life survives.
For in this boundless sphere, a gift so rare,
A prize we must cherish, tenderly declare.
Let our human souls align with nature's grace,
And triumph together, in this earthly chase.
So hear this plea, O judges of the poetic realm,
For nature's voice shall sing, within this heartfelt hymn.
May this humble ode unlock your hearts anew,
And crown it as a testament, a vision that shines true.
With every line in harmony, this verse shall strive,
To earn triumph not for me, but for nature's strive.
To win your contest is but a fleeting gain,
But the preservation of this beauty, forever shall sustain.
