Analysis of This House
Alone. Empty. Clean.
The house is so quiet when you're not home.
Just photos. Furniture. Neatly arranged toys. Clothes. Windows And Rooms.
So much to do as I wait for you.
You walk in...
Smiles...Giggles...
Shoes thrown on the floor...
Millions of toys all out to play...
But this is just a house when you're not home.
Waiting for the day review,
Waiting to see the world through you.
Young. Innocent. New.
TV. Reading. Cleaning.
But this is just a house when you're not home.
Home Now!
Cooking. Cleaning. Feeding.
Playing. Yelling. Jumping.
Snuggles. Eskimos.
Toys. Books. School work.
I wait for evening,
When you walk through the door and make our house a home again.

About this poem
I wrote this home waiting for my son to be dropped off back home from camp one night, missing him while working all day. It really got to me sitting home alone, when he's normally always with me, how my house is just a house without him here. My son makes our home have heart and soul.
