Analysis of Then I Blinked
When I saw you for the first time
The world opened my eyes
To a love so wild I couldn't think
then I blinked
And you were five years old
Like an arrow shot into the sky
I told myself I had to let you fly
I tried to let go, but then
Suddenly you were ten
And there were only eight years left
Eight became five
And I wanted to cry
'Cause thirteen candles
Went out with one breath
And I knew what was coming next
Then I blinked.
On your hand was a diamond ring
When I was young I thought time
Was a slow, slow thing
But now I can't see how it's moving so fast
Sometimes I'd give anything to reach into the past
Make those precious moments last
Before I blinked
Again.
