Analysis of Progress
Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)
We are the seekers of truth,
The disciples of reason,
The advocates of empathy,
The believers in humanity.
We reject the dogma of old,
The superstitions and fears,
We embrace the power of knowledge,
The freedom of inquiry.
We stand for justice and equality,
For the dignity of every being,
We celebrate diversity and difference,
And the wonders of our existence.
We find our purpose in service,
In the love for our fellowman,
In the pursuit of a better world,
And the fulfillment of our potential.
We are the torchbearers of progress,
The guardians of the future,
The voices of a new era,
The warriors of secular humanism.
