Analysis of Natural Essence

I am embarrassed
I was taught to stay above
Desires I can not speak of
Impurity for me is like a drunk to a bottle of gin
Most days, my mind wins
I’ll down some shots and get drunk from sin
Pop my head open
Champagne rains on this bed

If she can’t reciprocate my need
I become bored, then brood
In such mood, what I am to do
Woo this bird of paradise?
Dance around nude?
Release my love
Let’s get crude

About this poem

This short poem is about how we as humans can not truly be suppressed of our emotions, thoughts, or desires, even if we grew up in an environment where such ways of thinking is shun upon. The character I created in this poem is tired of living in censorship of his own true emotions and carnal desires.
