Analysis of Broken Dreams

Eileen Goldberg 1950 (Brooklyn)

      These feelings, apparent, so easy
       to see,
are breaking the heart that’s inside
       of me.
I’m taking them out, I’m finding
      a place
to put them safely, just in case.
Can’t breathe with them in there,
      may never again.
Can’t imagine my life without you
       my friend.

About this poem

Friends are the flowers in the garden of life. Losing one has no words adequate to describe how it affects one.
