Analysis of MY OWN PERSONAL WAR DRUMS
mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)
I am hearing those war drums again, how I missed those sounds that bring me from the beginning to the end. they ask why are you always suffering alone why do you carry their weight upon your shoulders do you not know that you are only getting older? they look at me with their eyes of judgment not knowing that soon I will be their warrior king, they will come to me as a Catholic goes to confession saying forgive me father for we have sinned.
Maybe the time is right to start beating that war drum as they are not ready to see all the things that I have done and overcame my strength came from no regrets only pain. my eyes are heavy no longer do I want to fight yet my voice carries on the beats of my war drum.
