Analysis of I am Grey

Janet Freeman 1997 (Phoenix, Arizona)

My world is black and white,
With many shades of grey.
No forests of green,
No canned laughter on the tv.
It’s just quiet.
Smiles seem darker,
And pain is more bearable.
It’s almost okay….
But it isn’t.
When you dread every today,
All the tomorrows,
All the yesterdays.
Life is purgatory.
I am grey.
