Analysis of THE GOOD LIE
Tell me a lie
Say that you still love me
I don't want to go through another day
Without you saying so
Tell me a lie
Say that you care
I dont want to face another tomorrow
With the echoes of yesterdays
Tell me a lie
Say that you need me
I don't need to know your reasons
Just tell me it is so
Tell me a lie
Tell me a fabrication
Let me watch it pass through your lips
smooth as chocolate
And onto mine
As you seal it with a kiss
Tell me a lie
So I can continue this counterfeit life
Tell me a lie
So I can believe fractured fairtales
Do exist!

About this poem
This poem reflects the feelings I went through when I found out that my husband was cheating on me but I could not bring myself to confront him as at the time I felt so depressed, so defeated that I accepted his duplicity knowing he was lying to me.
