Analysis of Eventually the Smooth Ride
Douglas Blair 1951 (London)
Decisions have come
All fussing begone
For you Lord, are driving this car.
Past efforts of self
Pulled down from the shelf
Had not got the journey too far.
Like Hansel of lore
With Gretl implored
Let's lay down some breadcrumbs, a guide
But birds ate the whole.
Then dangers unfold.
Calm hands from above smoothed the ride.
Don't let pride invade
The best plans you've made
Have not kept the Chev on the road.
So look up dear friend
On Father depend
And stop trying to haul all the load.
Just stop trying to haul all the load.
