Analysis of Fire In The Sky

Michael J Gibbons 1976 (Waratah)

Orange, Violet, Yellow, and Green,
The strangest rainbow said to be seen.
For it was not arched, or prismed in. shape,
But billowed like a mushroom, or swirled like a cape.

I asked my old man, "what is that design?"
"an angel's reflection?" "or God spilling wine?"
His sad look said to me without a reply,
It was Human doing, that fire in the sky.
