Analysis of Take Me

I have never seen the sea
The next time you go
Take me.
I have never felt
The waves
Crashing at my feet
I have never felt
The sand between my toes
I have never felt
The longing for
What the waves take away from us.

I have never seen the forest
The next time you go
Take me.
I have never felt the wind
Caressing my hair
I have never heard the leaves
Rustling
I have never seen a squirrel
Running away with the nut
Ever so closely clutched between its arms
Just like you held me
When I was young.

I have never seen the mountains
The next time you go
Take me.
I have never touched the snow
With my tired hands
I have never rolled on the ice
With my feeble feet.

The dark colour of the walls
Are desolate and forlorn
Just like my heart
The rails of the bed
Are a jail of their own
And the sounds of the machine
Are waiting for my heart
To stop
Just like
Me.

The next time you go
Take me
Even if you go away
Forever.
