Analysis of To the one I end up with

/To the one I end up with,
I know
Our walk hasn’t been easy
a flowing river of countless emotions
I’m hopeful you are with me, through rising tides and calm seas.
I am no expert at life
I scatter and prick
My eyes are a waterfall of hope
And, my mind always ticking
inching towards a solution
to problems that aren’t mine to keep

I won’t deny
My hair isn’t always kept tidy
often forms knots of binding memories.
I hold on too tight to the railing of love
tighter than my hands can bear
But, I have learnt
to let go when my hands start to bleed.
I dream
I might choose it someday over you
I hope you understand
I owe this one to myself
It’s held me when your arms weren’t there
to heal me.
And if you stick by,
knowing all of this..
I will give in all of me to you
every breath, every day
till I sink

Gehna Maheshwari

Just another girl treading on a path between today and tomorrow hoping I can make it to a place I can call my own. Ever since then they have been there to hear me out when I heart felt empty and full at the same time. Writing became my passion and career. And there began my journey from me to me.. more…
