Analysis of Twenty One and Counting
It’s been twenty one years since that dark day,
A day where hatred won in life’s eternal play.
I still mourn all those that died that terrible day,
And when I’m alone and darkness looms I still cry as I recall that day.
God looked away and evil rose to conquer,
Satan in the swirls of smoke smiling all the way.
Each year I try moving forward as so much time has passed,
Yet memories, pain and endless tears have trapped me in that past.
Each year the bell tolls for every name, let not one single name be missed,
Because family members young and old have members that they miss.
I remember it like yesterday the sky so blue and clear,
People stared in disbelief as two planes brought hell to bear.
But now the anger has lost its hold yet the sorrow and tears remain,
When i look back on this tragic day all i feel is pain.
As I search for relief to ease my pain I look to heaven above,
But how can I expect any relief at all, from a god that I still blame.
