Analysis of The Assault

Tanisha Kar 2003 (Bhubaneswar)

The Assault
The manjack said, your swedge was harder than
mine, how do I explain them, i laid down my life
the same place where I saw you slain.

The splinters of glass which then shred your flesh,
are still tearing me apart.

The battle you jousted with those merciless
monsters, reminds me of my everyday wrangle
within to hold-back the tears.

The conscience you tried to remind them,
it's evoking the wound rose owing to your loss.

The soul which deserted your corpse,
Is delving back the souvenirs which my heart bears
of you.

The torture you withstood till your last breath,
Would you believe me if I say, is perhaps the last
thing I'm ever enduring?

And my heart still wonders, if this pain's going to
replace my love,
To last long forever, within me.
