Analysis of Life of a student

Life of a student
How I've missed it so
The people, the air
All charged with the heat of work to be completed
By procrastinating hands
They have all gathered like gorilla bands

The rustling of paper, of jackets and bags opening reminds me of leaves crackling
Swishing of pen on books, here take a look
The tap-tapping of fingers on keyboards
Most of which do all the work

I sit here observe in silence
A pen and paper in hand to maintain appearances
Whereas in my head I'm lost in a world of my own making
It is filled with words, lullabies and the smell of ink

About this poem

I wrote this while I was out reading with a couple of my friends, and just got inspired to write what I was seeing and thought to share my perspective
