Analysis of THE IRONY OF MY LIFE

Madhulika Bhargava 2006 (Uttar Pradesh)

The day I broke into thousands of pieces,
I decided not to provoke the fire in furnace.
But the world cannot see me dancing in joy,
They broke it again like the mirrors they destroyed.

They were selfish but I was pure as coal,
They were liting the fire to burn me from core,
They wanted the diamonds as glorious as my heart,
So they left me in the mines, till I broke apart.

I was left in the dark to show my shine,
They cut me like a bark,to make jewel for their lives,
I went through so much, but I never complained
Cuz I knew I was hard and they need so much to break.
I knew I was exceptional and they won't find another
So I became the one precious like no another.

And now they show me as a symbol of grace,
Magnificent, Incredible they thought their face .
But I know that ferocious look in their eyes,
As they keep in a box to save for their lives.
