Analysis of "leaders of Tomorrow"
From the seventies occurred
Seemingly total normal dislodge.
Social it is that the child is held in oblivion
From being a father of his own children.
Natural it is that father frowns at
A child's advancement, desiring
To see the child of his brain forever a kid.
Natural it is that father says no
Even when tomorrow says yes.
Psychic it is that the child Battles with conflicts and uncertainties,
Needing someone to tell him
Of his fatherhood status,
Needing father to pronounce
Him child to son and boy to man.
Political it is that choice
Of the people is stage-won
And candidate of loot defeats.
Doom it spells that corrupt base
Is bound to collapse.

About this poem
"Leaders of Tomorrow" is a poem that describes the generational and political shift from the natural trend. It depicts a disillusioned feelings the modern generation is experiencing from old-time leaders in Africa whose sit-tight attitude to governance deprive African continent brainy and youthful leadership that would usher in more growth and development in Africa. From the poem, one might begin to ask this question: are youths really leaders of tomorrow?
