Analysis of A Toast to the 9-5
To all my people out there hoping they don’t wake up,
expecting to slip in the shower and end in the tub.
To all my people, while shaving, looking to shred up their neck
and pray that nobody comes by to check.
To all my people out there wishing they’d just make a mistake
and add arsenic instead of sugar to their bowl of cornflakes.
To all my people stalling on a highway bypass
Yearning for the whole damn thing to collapse.
I see you.
And so, to all my people who want to hang with their ties
And at the end of the day say their final goodbyes.
To all of you a toast!
To the daily grind.
I’ll see you all again tomorrow.
