Analysis of Raw

Dalene Swanepoel 1978 (South Africa)

I find myself in the raw moments
Not in the bliss of content
Rather in loosing myself within uncertaintities
In emotions so bold it shakes you
In the tears of empathy
And the thunder of what scares me

For reaching so deep within your weaknesses
You find strenght beyond comprehension
Peace in the deepest corners of your soul
Love for the hurt, the pain, the imperfections
Of learning and teaching yourself

You are your rawness
You are the very essence of what hurts you
For life is not mere contentment and happy moments
Its the suffering and hours spend enduring
The courage to listen and to open your heart
The vulnerable moments
The no words no moving forward times
Dying
