Analysis of Worship and Warning
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord,
Joy to the rock of salvation;
A joyful noise in one accord,
For a spiritual foundation.
Let us come into His presence,
A joyful noise of thanksgiving;
Songs of praising in the essence,
For His mercy and forgiving.
Because the Lord is a great God,
Above all others, a great King;
It is right to honor and laud,
For all the goodness He does bring.
In His hand are depths of the earth,
Also are His are the mountains;
All the riches of priceless worth,
As the rivers flow like fountains.
All of the seas that He has made,
As His hands have formed the dry land;
Waterfalls a gallant cascade,
Majestic scenery so grand.
So let us worship and bow down,
Having us kneel before the Lord;
With a high regard as renown,
Showing He is loved and adored.
He is our God and shepherd,
And we are the flock of His sheep;
As we abide in every Word,
Watching over us as we sleep.
Do not ever harden your heart,
As is you were put to the test;
Any temptation you must thwart,
That you will always do your best.
God was grieving for forty years,
As your ancestors went astray;
He swore that His wrath would cause fears,
Until they started to obey.
