Analysis of Addiction the Affliction

Addiction is an affliction that corrupts the mind, body, and soul Nowhere to hide Bound and out of control I want this pain to stop I get more to take away the uncomfortable feelings of shame and guilt No one understands me They get angry and act as if I am contagious All I am running from is me Just get clean and face the damage you’ve done One more, then I will stop; one more turns into too many To find myself in jail, prison within Out I come clean, this time I will succeed Baring the emotional pain and damage I’ve done Takes me back to the place, I swore to never return Disappointment once again Cycle begins, I end up back into the darkness of addiction True affliction that wants to take my soul Fighting to stay alive but wanting so bad to die I may as well end it all, I will only fail again God, take this addiction away from me, deliver me!
