Analysis of Being Gracious
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
A deadly thing is poured out,
An evil disease cleaves fast;
Where He lies there is no doubt,
That His life will ever last.
Even my friend who I trust,
Who has eaten of my bread;
Knowing He is fair and just,
Never will He remain dead.
The Lord is gracious to me,
Has risen to repay them;
In which as He does decree,
Ensuring as to condemn.
By this, I know He delights,
My enemy will not shout;
No triumph in any fights,
Through their minds having much doubt.
He holds my integrity,
Setting me in His presence;
Everlasting dignity,
Persevering my patience.
Bless be the Lord our God,
Everlasting faithfully;
To whom I honor and laud,
Sanctifying as holy.
