Analysis of Needless Wants To Wish

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Pointless.
And needless wants to wish.
For attention with undivided listening to get.

Those times are gone to no longer exist.

Today?
People will say,
Some of the most outrageous stuff to hear it.
To do this then claim,
Of a being misunderstood since childhood.

But never to have grown up,
To become an adult.
Because that to do,
Would have them made to be accountable...
For actions they have taken to accuse,
Others who refuse to accept excuses used.
By those seeking ways to find,
Reasons to blame...
Time was not given enough to them,
To be understood like the ones...
Doing the best they can to avoid the minds,
Of those who appear and look as if adults.

But seem incapable to act like one.
Or pretend to know what an adult is!

'What do you mean,
I am not yet an adult.
Do you know how old I am?'

'Mentally, yes.
Chronologically?
I can only take a guess.
I would say...
Somewhere between 2 and 85.'
