Analysis of Stained

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Revenge will never satisfy
But love is in the Father’s eye
And although you may try and try
Without true love you’ll surely die

You cannot get enough of this
But always it’s “just one more kiss”
His loving arms you won’t dismiss
Because it’s there you find true bliss

And everything I can remember
As messed up as it all may be
I cannot blame this on my Father
He did the best He could for me

O Father wash me once again
I call to you my one true friend
I never could deny you LORD
The price you paid I can’t afford
