Running from the LORD

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

You’re divorcing wisdom to marry your passion,
Because at this point in your life it’s in fashion.
So, will this end up in marital bliss?
Before giving an answer consider this;
The throat of the one you’re divorcing, you’re cutting,
Because you can’t bear to hear His rebutting.
Though He cries out: I love you, I’ll still take you back!
With refusal to listen, you continue your attack.
Now His blood is poured out all over the floor;
You’ve become worse than a prostitute, you’re just a whore.
So, what can be said to a woman like this?
Find your back, baby girl, and give it a kiss!
