Analysis of 5:31 am

you deprived me from any ounce of hope I had left
that proved our love was real
you stripped me down
until my insecurities
were transparent
for everyone to see
it was as if
you were dangling a key
over my head
but there was nothing i could do
so I’d stand there
begging you to move it
closer to me
you pretended you would sometimes
but you never did
and I guess he was taller than me
since he was the one
who finally got the key
