Analysis of A troubled boy and girl

This poem ain't about the flowers
Or the sugar bowl so sweet
It's about a troubled boy and girl
And their feeling of defeat

They both were just  so much alike
But they grew up different ways
Now they feel like giving up
Dreading future days

They used to be so caring
There hearts were made of gold
But over time they died inside
From the things that they were told

He was told he wasn't wanted
So many times that it felt true
She fell victim to a life
Full of narcissistic dudes

Then one day their pathways crossed
As they shared a shift at work
One look into eachothers eyes
And they could see eachithers hurt.

Now I wish that I could tell you
Things got better after this
But he fell in love and fantasized
That some day soon they'd kiss

But she didn't want him either
Much like the others in his passed
Cuz she was with a toxic guy
Just trying to make it last

This toxic guy would treat her bad
Only caring for him self
While the other guy just watched in pain
Wishing he could help

Cuz even tho she told him no
And they'd always be just friends
He hoped one day their friendly way
Would have a different end

Cuz every time the dumb guy left
He'd be right there by her side
But she'd run back to the other guy
No matter what he tried

Then one day the other guy
Had broke her heart to much
She was finally tired of the pain
And decided she had had enough

Now with the toxic lover gone
He could finally make his move
But he had felt defeated to
And wasn't in the mood

So instead the made a pact
Together they'd stay alone
And set out for a better life
Then the one they once had known

Now did they finally fall in love
Well I just couldn't say
But now I've brought you up to speed
On who I am today

And I know from here on out
We will have eachothers back
Cuz I'm her best friend and she is mine
I know that for a fact

The feelings that I had for her
Way back from the start
Are just as much alive today
Still beating in my heart

I just hope that as we heal our wounds
That some day she might see
That I'm the only one for her
And she's the one for me
