Analysis of Shrinkage

Douglas H. Mc Clintock 1934 (Sarnia, Ontario)

What  is happening to my body ?
I am at a loss for words,
All day long I am very groggy
Listen, this is no joke, I have become rather absurd !

Is this a life worth living ?
Body, mind and spirit, they say,
Everyday I get that old feeling
I am in a state of decay !

My good days are behind me,
I only have lots of memories
Years ago I was footloose and fancy free,
I have been told I have plugged arteries !

Old age is not for wimps or sissy
It's only for the brave and strong,
One word I am not busy
Who really wants to shave ?

I have just become almost useless
But to my surprise, I have become an antique,
One person who still loves me is Jesus
He says you are near home, so hang tough !

My mind is still working rather well
So i have become a poet,
I have become a bard, this is where I belong
And I have the key to rewrite life's little secrets !
