Analysis of There to here

Michael Dobbs 1960 (Te Aroha)

It only took a year
We were there
But now we are here

From the constant heat
In the air
And in the food we eat

To a place cold
More noticeably so
Since getting old

From friends we made so dear
Sadly missed
But our family is here

Memories will fill the gaps
Old memories from there
And new ones from here

But whether there
Or whether here
I love you more every year
