Analysis of Letter to my lover
Nandawula Regine Kabali-Kagwa (NRK-K) 2000 (South Africa)
Our infatuation was as radiant and plush like fertile soil
Bearing a rose seed of our undiscovered love
But we were never ready for the uncalculated seasons of mixed emotions
Because our growth was rather harsh like the stormy nights we sat through waiting
Waiting for our rose petals to bloom
Oh but they did, my love
A petal opened when your eyes sung in silence with unspoken feelings
Another opened when my breath got tangled in my throat,
Every time a whisper of your presence kissed my skin
Like a tidal wave... We collided
Your waters of affection clung to my soil of need
Thats when our rose bloomed, my love
As our petals bled more red and our seasons began to change
The more protruding our rose bud became
