Analysis of The Fire
Bruce Davidson Culpepper 1969 (Nashville, TN)
Beyond what all the rest call real
Trust what you know and see and feel
Don’t look around to place the blame
Just look inside and you’ll see the flame
Those glowing embers rising through
The pain you’ve been accustomed to
Find peace in tending the fire’s blaze
And it won’t falter through life’s maze
Find what you need to bring to life
The fire inside will burn the strife
Of living from day to day
And light your path along the way
To yourself always be true
There will never be another you
Don’t be discouraged by what they say
Just light your fire and find your way
Share the light of your own fire
With all that seek to fuel the pyre
So that together you can light
A beacon of hope in the night
