Analysis of GODFATHER PICNIC IN THE PARK
GODFATHER PICNIC IN THE PARK
By Tom Sabel
Some kids played loud music and started to dance.
They moved really fast like they had bugs in their pants.
The music was funky and on really loud.
Trying to watch I was kicked out by the crowd.
After walking the path to the new picnic grounds.
Where the old folks were eating and putting on pounds.
Strolled by one group who dressed in all black.
Their eyeballs were watching like I might attack.
A bodyguard stepped up and got in my way.
Big apes like him don’t show up every day.
He spoke rather slow with an Italian accent.
Those words were confusing, I knew what he meant.
Some old guy named Vito had rocks in his cheek.
Told the guy to unload me. My legs felt really weak.
This guy named Michael told me to sit.
Mike pulled out a gun, it had blood spots on it.
“We’re having Cannoli and corn on the cob.”
But you better eat quickly dad eats like a slob.
The fat guy just watched me and started to laugh.
Vito said he’s the hitman he could blow me in half.
Eating was Shakey with the Godfather bunch.
Corn wine and Cannoli is a very good lunch.
Next, we played softball. I got second base.
Mikes son shot a Tommy gun all over the place.
After wine corn canole and having such fun.
Our picnic had ended Mike picked up his gun.
I turned down a job for more cash than I’ll use.
Vito said, “Make an offer that he can’t refuse.”
Mike asked if I could cut the head off a horse.
Vito said I would get lots of money of course.
When I told the guys it was my time to go.
They seemed disappointed and didn’t say no.
We shook hands and said tootles then went our own way.
I survived the picnic then ended my day.
