Analysis of My Infatuation

Christina Latimer 1992 (Colville, Wa)

Ode

The thrill of his touch against my skin,
entangled together in passionate sin.
His lips are like heroin and I'm an addict.

He is the prison and I'm the convict.
He's a force like a magnet. Its not easy
to explain, my heart beats for him, its hard
to detain.

His breath on my neck is pure ecstasy.
There's no denying this physical chemistry.
His eyes draw me in, they're hypnotic.
My infatuation can be catastrophic.

He haunts my dreams, I want to remain
in my slumber,
The days we shared a love together
are numbered.

My love for him, I will always defend,
I will wait for him, until the very end.

About this poem

I wrote this poem about my first real love. I wrote it when I was 19 and 11 years later, I still feel the same. I can't stay away from him but we can't be together.
